Leta Russell aka "The Weight Loss Chick"

Thanks for coming to my blog! I’m not a nutritionist, but I’ve been involved in natural health and wellness for the last 15 years and I really love food!

I love to eat because food is delicious.  And, I  believe that you can eat great and still lose weight. This blog will prove it. I love to research and test new weight loss products…including diets, try new recipes, and find healthy replacement solutions to satisfy cravings. I search the cutting edge trends in food and dieting, and have fun sharing my findings with you! You may even want to try some of the things I’ve found that work for me. I want to assure you that 1) that I won’t share something with you unless I’ve tested it first, and 2) that I sometimes make a commission from the things I introduce here.

My name is Leta Russell and I’m a Rockin’ Boomer Babe, aka “The Weight Loss Chick”, challenged with the same weight problems most females struggle with every day. I’ve tried just about every fad diet, diet drug…even prescription speed…,natural diet supplement, diet cookbook, and fitness program, and yes, I’m still not my “ideal size”…whatever that is.

I’ve struggled with weight issues for most of my life. In my twenties, I starved myself and took diet prescription drugs to stay at 125 pounds, which, for me,  was way too thin,  NOT healthy, and not sustainable. In my thirties, I gained a wonderful husband, some sense, 3 kids and too much weight. I got up to 180 pounds with my third child and at 37 it just didn’t come off like it did with the first two (sound familiar?). After yo-yo dieting up and down 10-20 pounds for the next 15 years, I hit 50, menopause, family stress (3 teens at once explains it) and gained another 40 pounds.

About 5 years ago…and at 220 pounds…I’d decided enough was enough already! I changed my way of eating,  my way of thinking,  my activity levels, and found a healthy fat loss aid that I can honestly say worked for me. I said good-bye to high glycemic carbs, hello to 2 litres of water a day, started walking consistently, began wearing a fat loss patch, and dropped 35 lbs. (went from a size 18 to a 14).

I’ve maintained that for 3 years and now I’m ready to take off the extra 40 pounds of weight to get back down to a size 10/12.

Maybe you want to lose weight, too…so, I hope you’ll find The Weight Loss Chick an inspiration, helpful, and most of all Lots of FUN!
